Today, on another blog that will remain nameless, I saw a story about Michelle Bachmann and her performance at Jimmy DeMint's South Carolina Republican presidential softball contest. Not surprisingly she went to the shrink government card despite her well documented history of living off the IRS, Medicare and other government programs. Specifically, she threw out the possibility of shutting down the Department of Education. She threw out that tired Republican mantra of local control and letting parents decide the curriculum of their schools. (I love that too since down here in the Republican Eden called Texas we have had a decade of steadily taking more and more decisions away from local school boards when it comes to curriculum by creating an ever more elaborate state accountability system run by a foreign company - our friends from Pearson.)
What drives me nuts is that no one asks the obvious follow-up questions.
